Today is my gorgeous husbands birthday ( and he is on night shift). He was extremely pleased with his fishing rod ( it’s a St Croix something or other…) His Diowa? reel is on its way…and he won a whole $4 on his scratchies! He also got this awesome fishing sign from my grandparents ( I will take a pic it is too cute!)

Today we also taught Kalyb to mow the lawns.

And I finished my candle holder that I got for Christmas

On other news…I know everyone has heard about the bushfires. I am praying that my friends and family are safe. I can’t beleive King Lake is gone. I am so pleased that Jess’s parents got out with their lives…they have nothing else though- its awful to contemplate.
Seymour seems to be safe so far- and I pray it stays that way. I worry about Susie down at NarreWarren, as there is a fire there too, and her house is on wooded acreage. Wandong, Kilmore, Heathcote and Whittlesea all on fire. The Allens factory at Broadford gone. Beechworth is on alert. Its just awful.
84 people dead so far..and the toll is just rising.I just hope its not my friends…

I have to say thank god for the CFA, the army guys who are going in to fight fires, the red cross, and everyone else who bands together at a time like this.

Thinking of everyone affected

Last night

Last night we had Ricks birthday dinner down at the Golf Club. We are lucky to have such a great group of friends who came to celebrate with us!
We had Shan, Tim and their kids, Chris, Cassie and their kids, Felicia and Dan and their kids, Tammy and her kids- Richard had to do a run out to get someone who was bogged so he missed out…and there was Rick and I and our kids.

The dinner was lovely, the company awesome….and the three birthday cakes were delicious!

His actual birthday isn’t until Sunday, but he will be on night shift :(

It will also be another full on day today, we have swimming lessons for Zoe at 830am, then a birthday party to go to for Kimberley, then a bbq tonight and a linen party…and another linen party to go to tomorrow!

On a high note- Rick had his meeting, and his job is safe…( unless they close all of Weipa- which we dont think will happen…for a long long time), so we can concentrate on enjoying our time here….and getting organised for our trip in May! We will be going up to the tip of cape york ( yes only 200km away, but on the OTL- old telegraph road which is basically mud….we are flooded in as it is!) We have to buy a tent before then, and other camping supplies…

My 30-60-90 challenge is going really well, still havent bought anything, and I have plans to scrap later on, or maybe tomorrow at this stage!

Not much otehr news.

Enjoy the pics

“Tarni has been working hard, problem solving, and answering many questions. Keep up the good work!”

Yes Tarni got star student of the week- I am so proud of her. Her teacher also told the school how she had corrected a textbook- she is one smart cookie!

So here we go…I used this recipe from Best Recipes….

I cut mine out using an egg ring, I really need something bigger. And I dont think I let the dough prove for quite long enough. BUT they are really delicious, and if you made them for brekky and served them hot they would be great. We had some hot, and now are having some for lunch cooled down, they are still great, but not as light as when they are hot. Definetely be making these a lot more often….

If you give them a try let me know how you go
